For more than 20 years, I have worked in education: as a teacher, leader, headteacher, consultant and coach. I've led schools through significant change, developed practitioners and supported educational organisations in the UK and internationally.

Along the way, I’ve learned that education is about far more than what happens in a classroom.

Children learn best when they feel safe, understood and able to be themselves. Teachers and leaders perform at their best when they feel supported rather than judged. And families often need someone to help them make sense of what is happening and find the right support.

That realisation has shaped what I do now.
It started with education

I began to realise that the things affecting growth weren't always about learning.
That's when I moved into coaching. I became increasingly interested in what sits underneath performance - confidence, self-belief, relationships, emotions, habits and the stories that we tell ourselves.Â

Coaching gave me a new lens. It's not about telling people what to do, but helping them think differently, see things more clearly and find a way forward.Â

From education to coaching
After years of leading and developing others, coaching became a natural next step for me. Beginning with educational leaders, I strove to be the support that I myself had needed during the harder, lonelier times in leadership, and I began supporting senior and executive leaders in crisis.Â

But it soon became clear that the same principles could make a difference to leaders outside of education and to people much earlier in their journey.
And that's where The Heall came from...
The name The Heall comes from the Old English word for a hall — a gathering place.
Â
And that's exactly what I want it to be. A place where people can come together, learn, connect, be supported and find a way forward. Because people often don't need just one person. They might need a coach. A therapist. A counsellor. A SEND specialist. An educationalist. Parenting support. Or simply someone who can help them work out what they actually need.
Â
The Heall is a collective of trusted professionals who bring the right support at the right time together around individuals, families, leaders and organisations.
Â
It isn't about having all the answers under one roof. It's about knowing the right people to bring into the room.
And at the heart of it, is the same belief: People do better when they feel understood, supported and connected.
That's The Heall.
